Henna & Wood Burned Pumpkins

Post image for Henna & Wood Burned Pumpkins

Pumpkin season is here, and now is the time to start decorating!
Something different I’ve noticed this year are all of the light indigo colored pumpkins and gourds– they are beautiful! A muted shade of blue with little specks of white showing through…these have got to be my favorite ones of the season. It’s always fun to come up with new ways to decorate them, and I’m really excited to share this DIY with you all. I’ve carved, painted, and decoupaged pumpkins before, but never did I think to incorporate henna and wood burning techniques until now. Here’s how to put a unique twist on holiday pumpkin decorating!

The Meaning Of The Hunter’s Moon

Evening falls just a bit earlier, a breeze ruffles your curtains — markedly crisper than the previous days — and leaves appear in increasing numbers around your feet — what is it about October that is so perfectly haunting and enchanting all in one?

3 Tips For Making A Positive First Impression

It takes a long time to truly get to know someone. It just does. And in the fast-paced world in which we all reside… sometimes a first impression is all we’re given to leave our mark.
In recent years, I’ve been told that I can sometimes come off as rude when meeting someone for the first time. This was completely shocking to me – and really frustrating, too. Those who know me have said that rude is one of the last adjectives they’d ever use to describe me – but it seems that my off-beat sense of humor is not always so well received upon first making someone’s acquaintance. So I’ve been trying to take steps to soften my first-impression personality a bit. I’d never advise to change who you are – not at all – just to try and foster a more inviting energy that gives a better picture of who you really are, and draws others in with open arms, naturally. That way, they’ll want to get to know you. It’s all about inviting people in – never shutting them out.

How to be less stressed out

Post image for 4 Ways To Be Less Stressed Out … Right Now
Is it me, or has the idea of stress and being so stressed out become a familiar constant in our lives?
When did it suddenly become OK for us — expected really — to consistently feel as if we’re at our wit’s end, running around with frazzled nerves, tight shoulders, and a to-do list that resembles a small novel? Now more than ever it seems as if we’re all wearing many, many hats. We have our jobs, our side hustles, our blogs and websites, toss in a few Pinterest quotes about working hard and being nice, and it’s easy to understand why stress is at an all-time high.
And I’m right there with you. Last week, my stress got the best of me and I woke up on Saturday morning with a nasty cold, a cold that has lingered for about a week. Coughing and sneezing … not my preferred way to spend a weekend and most of the week. It came on suddenly and without warning, but as I look back now I can see clearly: I wasn’t giving myself enough time to rest — really rest — I was feeling anxious about a few things, not eating as well as I should, and not taking care of myself. Sometimes life has to knock you down first to make you realize that change is in order.

Decorating With Fall Foliage

Fall. A season we all anticipate, but one that feels so fleeting.
It seems as soon as the official first day of the season hits, the leaves are nearing their peak. Soon there will be more foliage on the ground than adorning the branches of the trees. Those bright, autumnal hues of orange, crimson, and gold are ones I always wish to hold on to for just a little while longer.
Today I’m sharing three ways to do just that. When the leaves have nearly all fallen, bring a few indoors to make the gorgeous, color-filled days of autumn truly last the length of the season.
